You’re camping at Yosemite. Birds are singing. A raccoon is foraging in a nearby stream. It’s just after sunset and a crisp breeze carries the resinous aroma of pine needles. You’re kicking back in your lawn chair with a grapefruit soda. You catch the familiar whiff of dankness wafting from a couple of campsites over and breathe deeply. You head over to fetch a beer when you realize the f’ing raccoon raided the cooler.
Hops: Hallertau Mandarina, Idaho #7, Lemondrop, El Dorado
Malt: Two Row, Toasted Rice Flakes, Simpsons Golden Naked Oats

Bomber, bottled on 07/18/18. Pours clear gold with a thick fine white head. Aroma is bitter hops, a little citrus. Taste is very bitter, with a little tropical fruit. Bitter finish. Too bitter, not balanced enough for me these days but there was a time when I liked this type of IPA so im trying to appreciate what Drake was going for here.

Beautiful clear gold with a huge head that left nice lacing. Aroma and taste of bright citrus fruits with a complementary amount of piney/floral/herbal hop notes. Feel is medium with solid carbonation, easy bitterness. Overall, another expertly crafted beer from Drake's - really enjoyed the bright citrus feature & solid feel. This beer is higher-ABV but also more substantive than most regular IPAs.

Fairly solid IPA. Golden amber in color. Slightly cloudy, with a bubbly head, some moderate lacing. Aroma is citrus and bread, some herbal and earthy notes. The flavor is pine and grapefruit, quite resinous. Thick mouthfeel with a hops bite. It’s an ok beer, but not my favorite from Drakes.

Poured from a bomber into a pub glass. Has the right amount of head, but it's clumped to the side instead of smooth. Smells and tastes a little earthy and feels a little thin.

22oz bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a slightly cloudy light orange with a billowing, dense, and oily off-white head that slowly collapsed into rocky film that left chucks of thick sticky lace down the glass.
S: Huge grapefruit zest nose mixed with orange pith. Fresh perfumey citrus overall, with a touch of underlying resinous pine sap, and a hint of sweet malt.
T: Follows the nose with dominating grapefruit/citrus hops up front, and sticky resin in the finish. Aftertaste has a kiss of malt and lingering notes of pine sap.
M: Medium body, slick and slightly greasy mouthfeel with fresh hop oils. Carbonation is soft, fluffy, and smooth. Hops are tingly and bright. Drinks like an 8% beer as the finish is wet and slightly boozy.
O: Full of citrus and easy to drink. Glad they rebranded and packaged this.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy with a golden orange hue. Head is off-white and peaks at one finger's width. Good retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds with a fair ring around the edge of the glass.A few broken lines and some spotting make up the lacing.
Smell - Aroma is mostly grapefruit and leafy herbal notes with lesser spice and pine dankness. Faint bready sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. grapefruit and some leafy, almost minty flavor, with a kick of spice before some pine dankness kicks in mid-taste. Finish is mostly an equal combination of the aforementioned flavors, making for a decidedly hoppy but balanced finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with moderate carbonation. A tad soggy back end, which makes it feel heavier than it should, but a decent drinker all the same.
Overall - Nice West Coast style IPA with that herbal, leafy twist. I can definitely dig on this. Hopefully they put it into six packs. I tend to avoid the hefty price of bombers if I can.
