Random Costco purchase. Lucked out.
A nice rusty copper, two fingers of enduring head. Nice lacing. Carbonation streams settle down quickly, all but vanish.
A most promising malty scent. Imperial depth relentless ... Creamy caramel malty wave crush.
Bold boozy rye tide. Strong & simple.
Wickedly righteous, really.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Wow! Just what I needed. Dark Amber with nice creamy head, lacing coats the glass. Beautiful.Rich malty aroma with a touch of hops. Taste explodes with some deep caramel malts, piney hops and a bit of alcohol heat. Well rounded and full. Very, very satisfying.

L: Gourgeous vibrant mahogany with 2+ fingers of pillowy white sandy head with great retention and left slight sporadic lacing.
S: Earthy, floral and pineapple.
T: More pineapple forward than the nose, with some accompanying sweetness and slight breadiness. Finishes with plenty of bitterness, clears quickly.
F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Slightly lively on the tongue, likely from carbonation, still easy drinking for the ABV and body.
O: While I love hoppy reds, this one was good but not great for my palate and preferences, likely due to the sweetness.

Pours a reddish amber with white head and plenty of lacing into a snifter. This is a pretty beer. Subtle hoppy nose. Taste has up front hoppiness and a bit of toasty malt that follows. Really nice brew to celebrate Festivus. Exactly what I look for in an imperial red ale. Cheers.
