Had this towards the back end of the day at the Strange Brew Festival 2018. Looked innocent enough, albeit slightly darker SRM with traditional pilsners. Head of a white color in the 1/3" range, decent duration for which it held up.
Aroma popped nicely on the gin barrel, botanicals, floral, whatever feels and smells afterwards.
Taste also seemed to display the gin barrel quite a bit. Interesting stuff using a pilsner for a barrel aged product, but I'm tellin' you, it actually displayed some of those gin pepper and flower notes quite well, nothing to stand in the way like a bigger style beer would create obstacles over. The malt body of pilsner malts and corn keep it light, although I'm guessing it is the wood barrel that gives this a little more color? Nonetheless, this was more enjoyable than I expected it to be. Would totally recommend to my gin friend who doesn't like beer.
