Didn't know what to expect with this one, but boy did it blow my mind.
Poured dark and thick but with maybe a half finger of head (and that's trying to be generous) and no lacing.
What it was lacking and looks it made up for in aroma. The strongest note was chocolate but there was also cinnamon, bourbon and a hint of citrus. I must say it was one of the most enticing aromas I have smelled on a beer as of late.
The flavor was incredibly complex. Again there was a strong chocolate note but the cinnamon play the stronger role on the tongue that it did on the nose. The bourbon flavor was mild, and the cistrus started to come through. The 10.7 ABV was not detectable on the pallet. Overall, this maybe my favorite bourbon barrel aged beer. It has a balance that I often find missing in bourbon beers, often which I find overpowering.
Overall, this beers worst aspect was its looks which it more than made up for in taste. I would drink this baby any day. It's probably best as a dessert brew but I would drink it for whatever the reason.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This one smells like rich creamy chocolate, oak spice, bourbon, light fruity citrus, and a bit of sweet molasses.
The lactose provides a very nice creaminess, and smoothes out any booziness that might have been there. The cinnamon is done subtly and well, and the orange adds some intriguing sweetness to the beer. There's also a ton of creamy and sweet chocolate here.
This is medium bodied, and very creamy, with absolutely no booziness, which is very nice.
This is a fun little beer here - it could have ended up weird, and it ended up tasty.

Named after the Aztec god of the underworld, and inspired by Mexican champurrado, a warm corn and chocolate drink like hot cocoa... This 10.8% abv beer features lactose, cinnamon, orange peel, star anise, and cocoa nibs, and is bourbon barrel aged... Center pour reveals a solid black body in a pint under a coupla fingers of creamy tan foam... Head persisted as a wispy cream trailing lace arms behind... Not quite a typical "Mexican stout," as it features no peppers, this beer sets itself apart as a delicious combination of flavors in one of the smoothest and creamiest-feeling stouts I've ever had... The specialty ingredients meld seamlessly into one another's flavors and aromas, creating an incredible dessert beer drinking experience... chocolaty, but nuanced with fruit and spice, like sweet orange and licorice, and gracefully barrel-aged not to overwhelm but to complement... A rare treat, recommended if you come across it...

Tried on tap at Drake's brewery.
Bourbon barrel aged stout with orange zest and cinnamon.
No head but mild carbonation.
Smells like licorice and cinnamon.
No licorice taste, prominent cinnamon mixing with sweet vanilla bourbon, and a hint of orange.
Nice thick mouthfeel with sweetness that lingers on the tongue.
Great beer and is definitely try again.
