Pitch black viscous body with a thin brown ring. Smells strongly of the sherry, accenting the chocolate, vanilla brulee, molasses, and brown sugar with grape and booze. Wow SO MUCH sherry, the taste is laced with it, yet isn't as hot as the overpowering flavor's effect is. Obliterates nuance, grape, chocolate and booze with touches of sugar to the max. Feel is not complex either, super boozy, malty, and light for style though viscous. The original is much better

Another (paid for) gift from Tavour. The rye whiskey version was so unexpectedly fantastic I jumped on this one like a pike on a spoon. Stylish, gorgeous 375ML bottle with a black paper strip across the top sprinkled with iridescent purple words.
Kidnapped-in-the-trunk-at-midnight black. The nose brings chocolate & booze before the sherry destroys any other aroma thoughts. Holy sherry.
The Void – Sherry Barrel Aged leaves no doubt as to its pedigree. Sweet sherry is draped over this in enough quantity that I might accidentally use it my California Sherry Chicken. There is beer underneath, after cutting away the layers of sherry: rattling booze, chocolate covered cherries, thick. Thick. It took me about two hours to get through this. OK, maybe more than that.
Really good but the sherry seizes the party & runs away with it. Very good, but too one note.

Deep dark color, opaque brown; no head. Aroma infused with notes of roasted grain, dry oak, sherry. Sweetly rich flavors; sweet chocolate and cocoa; raisins and dates; dry sherry and light red wine; vanilla; a bit boozy. Heavy body; oily and sludgy; tons of residual sugars; primarily sweet overall with a mild boozy dryness.
This beer deftly melds a robust imperial stout with the subtle tastes of sherry through its barrel aging. At 14.1% ABV, one wouldn't expect much of a head, but other than some initial fizziness, there is nothing, so points off for that. But otherwise, the smell, taste, and mouthfeel are rather spectacular for the style and sherry barrel aging.
