A nice surprise from Drake's, and a welcome and refreshing respite from the vast array of 12% barrel aged RIS and Barleywines on this hot day.
The beer appears hazy dark orange. The aroma is lactic, with notes of mango, orange, nectarine, pineapple, and papaya. Vinegar is light.
The flavor is what I expected from the aroma. It's lightly sour and primarily lactic, with a moderate acetic character and big fruit notes: mango, orange, pineapple, and nectarine. A light oak presence is evident. Incredibly refreshing on a day like this.

A: The pour is a slightly hazed orange/amber color with almost no head.
S: As the name might imply, this one is full of tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple. A hint of vinegar and a mild tartness make for an intriguing nose.
T: The vinegar quality is a bit more up front on the palate and provides the bulk of the tartness. The tropical fruit flavors are once again in full effect. A mild grapefruit flavor provides some sourness as well as bittnerness.
M: The body is on the light end of medium with a very gentle carbonation and a mild dryness on the finish.
D: I was pleasantly surprised by this one, especially after some of the remarks about the other Drake's sour beers. I hope this one pops up again.
