Sampled at Stone Sour Fest 2010.
The beer's look was possibly the only thing it had going for it. Dark body, light brown head.
Smell and taste were terrible. Medicinal, the only fruit presence was of the skins of the berries. Couldn't drink more than 2-3 sips of a 4 oz taster. Only reason I drank more than the initial sip was because I couldn't believe how bad it was and had to see again. Should have trusted my palate.
As bad as this beer was, Drake's has potential to redeem themselves. Anyone who tried Tropic Thunder at Oakquinox knows these guys at least have one good sour under their belt, but unfortunately Frankenberry didn't cut it.

This was truly awful. Just an abomination before Great Cthulhu.
Dark, small light tan head. Looks okay.
Smell and taste is awful. Just, awful. Earth/dirt mixed with ... not really sour ... just rotting fruit notes. Just a completely awful beer.
I feel bad for Drake's. They're obviously trying their hand at these sours, and I hope they continue, but somebody in the brewery must have tried it before serving it ... right?
Awful Awful Awful.

On-tap at Stone Sour Fest
Could this potentially be FrankenWine with fruit and soured?
A: A somewhat muddled amber/reddish color without too much head on it.
S: An interesting nose, which consists mostly of oak and almost rotten fruit, but it is very hard to pick out what exactly it is.
T: This is a very tannic beer. Slightly sour, but primarily tannic oak, earth, and fruit skin and seed flavors. A bit of a very dry red wine note with just a hint of tart vinegar.
M: The mouthfeel is actually one of the better things about this beer. Decent body with a pretty aggressive dryness to it.
D: Not one of the good Drake's sours, though I suppose only Tropic Thunder is good. Pretty bland and boring, truth be told.
