Palate Contaminants: other beer
Color is brown, shading slightly toward red. Opaque. Medium carbonation on the head. Slight lacing.
Smell is something along the lines of a lemon poppyseed muffin or lemon bread. It smells like something I'd be happy to eat for breakfast. Behind that is a little bit of grain. It's not too complex, but fairly good intensity.
Taste is the lemon bread, but it's joined by a lactic flavor, as though it has butter on it. Pretty mellow. (The other rye IPA I had from Frost in Vermont is nothing like this.) Simple, but pretty good.
The aftertaste is that lactic-lemon combination. The carbonation isn't prickly, but I still feel like there's too much. Medium weight.

330ml bottle. Very cloudy, pale yellow to dark orange milkshake, thin head. Rich citrus scent. Citrus and just a hint of rye spiciness, light bitterness. Medium body, almost no carbonation, incredibly smooth mouthfeel. Citra flavour with rye mouthfeel. Good.
