Cardboard aroma, muted roasty malt. Same with taste, nothing stands out. Sweet lactose, sweet malt, zero chocolate or nothing else to balance it out. Drain pour.

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I could find. Labeled as "Church", 4.5% ABV. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention is good, and there's a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of butterscotch. Luckily there isn't any butterscotch in the taste, it tastes like roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a bit of cream. However, I think it's more roasty and bitter than it is sweet. Since this is labeled as a sweet stout I'm guessing it should be sweeter tasting than it is. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy and slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this stout, but it's a little too roasty and bitter than I think a sweet milk stout should be. But with that being said, I liked this brew and I'd like to try it again in the future. $3.39 for a single can.

On tap at The Tap in Bloomington. I'm being fairly generous by giving this a 2. Based on the smell and the taste I would guess this was aged in an old cardboard box.
