Served in a pub glass at the brewery on tap
A: Golden yellow, extremely cloudy, almost turbid. Looks like orange juice. Reminds me a lot of the appearance of Trillium pale ales. A single finger of wispy white head that dissipates quickly.
S: Juicy right upfront. Pineapple, grapefruit, oranges and mangos. Digging deeper you get a bit of pine, grapefuit peel, orange peel and resinous dankness in the background.
T: Pop of bitterness upfront, followed by juicy tropical hop flavors in the middle mouth. Lots of pineapple, grapefruit and mango before a finish that contains elements of pine, rind and resin. Bitterness lingers from the aftertaste.
M: Medium sized mouthfeel, moderate carbonation scrubs the palate. Very dry finish.
O: One of the better examples I've seen from the West Coast of the famed "New England IPA". If you're a fan of the current fad in IPAs, this is a very good local option in San Jose.
