Bright copper color with a thick beige head with decent retention. Especially nice considering the style.
Relatively mild aroma with lots of pine initially and wood soaked with bourbon. Hints of herbal hops and dry fruits.
Flavor with predominant notes of charred wood, bourbon, spices and malt sweetness on the background. Hints of earthy and herbal hops, red fruits, orange marmalade and citrus peel. Dry and bitter aftertaste, but definitely it does not feel as 90 IBUs,
Medium body bordering full with mild carbonation. Alcohol of 8.5% feels lower and it is complementary to its flavor.
Not sure whether this is a Barleywine or a DIPA aged with chips. Although this is less complex than average for both styles, it is bold, balanced and assertive with a pleasant taste.
