22oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of charred oats, chocolate, molasses and toffee. Lots of chocolate, toffee, sweet molasses and caramel flavors. A subtle smokiness.

Pours an effervescent ebony with a thin tan head. Pretty good head retention & lacing
S: Dark fruit, carob, smokeyness once warm & booze too
T: Follows the nose, stlight charred grain, plenty dry up front. Dryness, more charred grain, & carob as this warms, hints of red grape as well. Finishes with subtle smokeyness, charred grain, dryness, & some Baker's Chocolate
MF: Medium body turning to stickyness, minimal carbonation
A well put together RIS, a huge redemption from the first one I tried

A: Beautiful psychedelic bottle with interpretation of Russian orthodox beard flowing across the label. No dating to be found. Big tan head on jet black beer.
S: There's a fairly strong medicinal note present. Some sweeter notes also there, black licorice and caramel.
T: Better than the smell. Boozy, yet smooth and tasty.
F: A bit vinegar-y.
O: I like this beer. It's unique for the style. RIS can be a bit hard for me to distinguish at times. This one unique and good. Torn Label along with Crane is one of the top newer breweries in KC.
