Pours black with a finger of khaki foam, with modest retention. Aroma is toasted coconut and coffee, both of which come off as natural and well balanced. Roasted, toasted, and nutted malts behind, and when combined with a solid chunk of bourbon and char, and a hint of molasses and caramel, develop a thick and dark, but welcoming, aroma. Flavor profile is toasted coconut, medium-roast coffee and chocolate with lesser notes of caramel and molasses. Bourbon and char show up as a hint, but are far from hot. They blend in well within this 12.5% ABV beer. Mouth feel is creamy and velvety, with a medium-thick thickness. Overall, loads of depth to this beer, making it a shear delight to enjoy.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 22oz bottle.

rad new one from these guys, a colossal brown ale with toasted coconut and coffee, one of their best beers to date in my opinion, just a really nice fusion of these two ingredients with an exceptional strong brown ale as a base. just a shade lighter than i would expect from a porter, the faintest deep red glow in intense light, but black in the dimly lit taproom these guys have (great vibes in here if you havent been). the aroma is super forward with the toasted coconut, lots of rich earthy sweetness to it, but also very natural, just in a nice high proportion, more honest than many others, and not syrupy at all. the coffee is in there with the dark malts, roast and chocolate elements fuse together, its rich but its not sugary. the flavor is great, more coffee than i smelled, super roasty and dried fruity too, nice with the coconut complexity and all the molasses and raisin notes of the base beer, it really is awesome to have the coffee and the coconut so robust and in a base thats not a stout or a porter, this is decidedly different in that regard, and just really good. the coconut still wins the day though, well ahead of the coffee all the way through, and its very peasant the whole time, very natural. i could use a little more body and frothiness to this, its not quite as round and hearty feeling as it could be with all this flavor and alcohol strength, but the beer is smooth for how strong it is, and there is fine carbonation here too. really clever and well made stuff, on trend, but also a little different. these guys are on fire right now!

At the taproom. Poured a dark, dark brown color with a small, tan head of foam. Great toasted coconut aroma with hints of Thou Mayest coffee. Great blend of coffee, chocolate and toasted coconut flavors.

Extremely enjoyable and well made beer. Pours very dark with a surprising amount of carbonation. The smell is absolutely wonderful, mostly coffee with just a hint of coconut. Mouthfeel is slightly chewy and leaves a nice coating on the glass. Coconut is the dominate flavor over coffee as opposed to the smell, very similar to BP Victory at Sea. This, however, is slightly sweeter and a tad more acidic. Overall, my favorite from Torn Label so far. Glad I picked up several bottles.
