Pours a dark brown with a burgundy hue to it. Transparency is obscured by a light haze. Some visible floaties in the bottom of the glass. Head is three fingers of tan foam. Aroma is nutty and caramel malts at the onset, with an emphasis on the former. Fig, raisins, toffee, and dark fruits add sweetness throughout the middle. Some alcohol swells up in the backend, drawing the sweetness to a close. Flavor profile is fig, raisins, molasses, toffee, and caramel malts. Heavy emphasis on the sweet characteristics, with balance delivered by oak & late resin and dank hops. Plum starts to show up more as the beer warms, rounding out the peak of the flavor profile to a more smooth bridge between beginning and end. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a hearty chalky and gritty texture. Behind the grit, is a soft effervescence. Overall, big time sugary notes, that all blend together well. It's balanced, especially at 11% ABV.

12oz undated can poured into an Old Guardian angular snifter at 50° Fahrenheit 11% ABV per label. The beer pours bright dark amber in color with beautiful mahogany highlights and khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island leaving behind some lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet notes of plum, caramel, red grapes and candi sugar. The taste is semisweet caramel with dark dried fruits, burnt sugar and earthy hop notes. Moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with just less than medium carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. The alcohol is well hidden and only presents itself as gastric warming. Overall, very good. Thanks Harrison.

Poured from a can. Dark amber in color with a large tan head and lacing. Smells of cream, malt, and dark fruit. Flavors of dark fruit, vanilla, malt, caramel and a boozy hit. Full of flavor, strong but drinkable.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, burgundy color with a small, khaki-colored head of bubbly foam. It left minimal trails of lace. It smelled of toffee, roasted caramel malt, boozy notes and coffee. Sweet malt, toffee, caramel and big boozy flavors with a mild bitterness.
