Dark reddish amber color with a substantial and lasting off white head and some nice lacing.
The aroma is dark caramel malt, hints of orange and some alcohol warmth, nice.
The taste is mildly sweet dark malt, hints of candy sugar plus raisins and plums with a warm sweet orange overtone. very nice balance of flavors, enhanced by the lingering alcohol warmth, just luscious.
The body is full, moderate carbonation, very smooth and very drinkable although this is clearly made to be sipped and enjoyed after dinner or any special time.
Altogether, this is a really tasty and enjoyable brew, no rough edges, just as a Belgian Quad should be. Sign me up!
