Went to a local drinks shop to see what more unusual brews they have on offer. Nothing too fancy, but I was planning to get some of these Kroon beers for a while, so this was a good find still.
Served in a tulip.
Once I opened the bottle a nice sweet malty caramel filled the room.
The beer has a fiery amber colour with a large egg-shell coloured head. As the head slowly deminishes, nice pearly lacing sticks to the glass.
The scent is very oppulent: red berries, vanilla, ripe prunes, figgs, caramel malts and barnyard yeast.
The flavour opens with earthy sweet bitter malts, followed by ginger and black berries and ending with vanilla. Some Granny Smith sourness as well.
Aftertaste is slightly more citrusy with sweet malts.
I am an instant fan. The rumours were right, this is a down to earth, decent, good brewery.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
