On tap at Swiftwater Brewing Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours, well, really weirdly. It's got a medium-dark brown, with some creamy, almost light-green tinges. It kind of looks like the inside of a crystal ball, not at all like a porter, honestly. There's a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing. The color is interesting, but not all that appealing when it comes to porters.
It smells good though- roasted malt, light ashy smoke, some dark chalky chocolate, and a little bit of coffee.
It also tastes good. They went for a more English porter style route here, it seems- there's a bit of smoke and dark fruit flavor, along with some dry baker's chocolate, and the slightest hint of coffee.
This is medium bodied, with a creamy, but slightly oily mouthfeel, along with a lower level of carbonation. It's quite drinkable.
Getting past the really weird color, this is a solid rendition of an English porter.
