On tap at Swiftwater Brewing in Rochester, NY.
Pours a moderately dark black, with a half inch head, and no lacing.
Smells really roasty and wonderful, with some slight dark fruit character and a good amount of smoke.
This is definitely a well crafted schwarzbier. There's some nice smokiness and ashiness here, a bit more than a traditional schwarbier, probably, with some dark fruits and chocolate. It's not super complex, it's just tasty and very drinkable.
This is medium bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel, and a medium level of carbonation.
Nice effort here.
