On tap at Swiftwater Brewing Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very slightly hazy straw yellow, with a small head, and big sheets of lacing down the glass.
Something smells kind of off here- there's maybe some sulphur, and cardboard. There's some grassy hop flavor, and mineral yeast character.
The body on this is a bit flabby- I expected some crispness or softness- and it's not here. There's some off flavors of sulphur and cardboard, but a nice grassy and fruity hop flavor. I can tell there's some potential here, but there's too many off flavors, and too delicate of a base to hide them. Swiftwater usually does some nice lagers, so this is a disappointing.
This is light bodied, but too lightly carbonated, and kind of flabby.
This is kind of disappointing. Back to the drawing board.

I'm always excited to see a kellerbier on tap but this was a major disappointment (the first of many at Swiftwater). Musty cardboard is not a flavor I enjoyed tasting in my beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
