This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small foamy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like roasty and slightly fruity coffee, bready waffle cone sweetness, and chocolate fudge.
When this one is cold, the coffee comes through more strongly. It's roasty, chocolatey, and just slightly fruity. The waffle cone thing is lighter when it's cold - it just comes across a creamy sweetness that folds into the coffee. As it warms, the waffle cone flavor becomes more defined as actual waffle cone, giving a nice bready sweetness to the back end of the beer. It's definitely a sweet beer, but doesn't go into cloying or sugary territory.
This is medium bodied, very creamy - it also has a nitro like mouthfeel to it. I'd heard some reports it might be thin, but I don't really get that.
Swiftwater's latest small batch beers have been really interesting and cool to try.
