Can purchased at Superfly DMC in Penfield, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like brown sugar, nuttiness, light pepper spice, almonds, and fudge.
I absolutely love the candied almonds you can order at the bar at Swiftwater, so this was a must try when I heard they were releasing it. The base is a nice mix of sweet brown sugar/chocolate fudge with a dryness on the back end that keeps it balanced. You get a touch of spice from the nuts - I think there's some sort of pepper or curry or something in the spice mix for the almonds. There's a bittersweet nutty character from the almonds that works very well.
This is medium bodied, and pretty creamy, with a good drinkability to it. There's a soft level of carbonation.
I'm happy to have been able to try this one.
