Inspired by the German Bee Sting Cake (Bienenstich). Aged in bourbon barrels and finished with almonds, honey and vanilla. Brewed in collaboration with Buffalo Beer Geeks for CollaBEERation 1.5.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a very small head, and not much lacing at all.

This smells like honey, fusel alcohol, cheap bourbon, vanilla, almond, and milk chocolate.

This is solid stuff, but I wish there was more barrel outside of just booziness. There's definitely some hard and fusel booziness to this one. The almond and honey are the other dominant flavors, and they work well here.

This is medium bodied, a bit syrupy, with a very low level of carbonation.

With a bit more carbonation and a bit less booziness, this would work better for me.
