A delectable blend of two favorites. We combined our "Barrel Aged Old Ale" with "BIG" Imperial Stout to create a harmonious blend of flavor. It's a 50/50 split of both beers that were aged in A. Smith Bowman Bourbon barrels for 9-11 months.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like dark chocolate, oak, smoky maple, vanilla, caramel candies, bourbon, dark fruit, and coffee.
You really get both parts of the blend - it must have been fairly even ratio of old ale to stout. The maple in BIG seems is wonderfully present, earthy, sweet, and maybe even a little bit smoky. There's some roast, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, toffee, some dried fruitiness. It's all blended really well together.
This is medium bodied, not super thick, but still definitely rich, with no real booziness at all.
I wish I had multiple bottles of this one. It's excellent, and it's safe to say that it's Swiftwater's best barrel aged release so far.
