Tmavé Pivo is a Czech style lager, pronounced [ma wei], that translates to “dark beer”. Our version is dark, nutty, and features sweet aromatics with notes of coffee, biscuit, and raisin.

On tap at Swiftwater Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a decently dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like nutty and roasty malt, light chocolate, some herbal hop character, and a light roast coffee.
This is pretty wonderful - I've been waiting for Swiftwater to release this one for a while. It's got a wonderfully rich nutty and chocolate character, with some light roast and spice, a touch of herbal hop character, and a hint of coffee bitterness. There's also some mineral like character.
This is creamy, but crisp and very clean, and drinks richer than the lower ABV would suggest.
This style is always going to be interesting to me. Swiftwater pretty much nailed it here.
