Huge stout fermented with maple syrup, aged in bourbon barrels, then infused with locally roasted Aporia coffee, toasted hazelnuts, & vanilla. This variation was created to celebrate our 7th anniversary.

On tap at Swiftwater Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like rich dark chocolate, roasty spice, maple candies, roasted hazelnut, vanilla, caramel, and rich creamy coffee.
This is yet another excellent take on their BIG stout - and it's one of the best stouts yet from Swiftwater. The maple sweetness is subdued and supportive, sort of a slightly sticky and golden sweetness on top of the rich roasty and vibrant character from the coffee. The hazelnut is very toasty and nutty (duh), and doesn't feel artificial or too sweet at all. This is definitely the sort of beer that could get carried away in the sweetness, but the adjunct work is carefully done, and the barrel helps mute the sweetness.
This is thick, creamy, and rich, with very little booziness, and a nice smooth drinkability.
Swiftwater has come a long way in their seven years of existence, and I'm excited to see what they can do next.
