Polotmavy Pivo translates from Czech to English language as "semi-dark beer".
For our next foray into traditional czech lager, we took on the resurging czech amber lager style, traditionally referred to as polotmavy pivo.
We decided to go our own way deterring from the usage of caramel malts in our grist, but sprinkling a few uniquely swiftwater components in along the way as well.
We hope you all enjoy this take on tradition as much as we do.
Lager on!!

This one pours a nice golden amber color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like toasted and nutty malt, breadiness, and a light spicy hop character.
This is really quite good, with a really nice toasty and warm malt character, super crisp, clean, and rich. There’s just a touch of spicy and herbal hop character. It’s got very little sweetness, mostly just rich complex malt character in a small package.
This is light bodied, but creamy and crisp all at the same time, with a wonderful drinkability.
It’s hard to not love something like this – how many places locally or even in the country are doing Czech ambers?
