Barrel aged Imp Stout created/distributed in collaboration with Bill Gray’s restaurants (Taprooms). Aged in Knob Creek bourbon barrels.
A very nice soft medium feel Imp stout with an attractive vs distracting touch of carbonation. Easily drinkable with little note of the double digit abv.
Attractive / inviting dark brew/ tan head initial pour. Little head or lacing noted soon after.
Nose is notable for hints of dark malt, vanilla and chocolate. Taste mirrors but also exhibits clear coffee elements. Really delicious blend of flavors. Extremely well balanced and complementary.
I shared a relatively fresh bottle at Bill Gray’s/Seabreeze, and will look fwd to enjoying again after a bit of aging.
