On tap at Swiftwater Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very clear golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like lemon peel, light vague citrus, grain, and some grassiness.
Swiftwater really does a good job at clean, no frills light lagers – something I would never be on the lookout for in my early days of getting into better beer. But now, I’m on the other side of the curve, and I can really appreciate it. There’s just the right amount of lemon – it’s there, providing a citrusy quenching character without going full lemon candy or getting too tart. There’s a crisp grassy bite to this, and a generally grainy sweetness.
This is very light bodied, but very, very drinkable, with a smooth crisp finish.
This absolutely works well for me, it’s quite accomplished for only being 3.5%.
