Poured from a growler into a pint glass
A: Dark brown, almost pitch black with a solid one-finger head
S: The aromas have lots of dark malts, tons of cocoa but also hints of coffee and bitter hop notes
T: The palate also shows chocolate malts/cocoa and a nice hop bitterness. The finish is a bit thin but also creamy
M: Medium-bodied, a pleasant bitterness, as above a thin but creamy finish
O: A great winter beer for hop fans- dark and warming but bitter

Served from cask at the brewery. This ale very much borders the stout / imperial porter style. Creamy, yet viscous. Sweet, yet balanced by hops. Some of the roasty/chocolate flavors you find in a stout, but slightly subdued by the hop presence. Very easy drinker, but full of flavor.
