A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising slowly along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of toasted oak, bourbon, caramel, and vanilla with moderate aromas of roasted + caramel malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of earthy hops.
T: Slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + dark + slightly charred + caramel malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. Hints of slightly spicy Belgian yeastiness. Moderate to strong flavors of toasted oak, bourbon, caramel, and vanilla without too much booziness. Light flavors of earthy hops. Moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which lingers well through the finish.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a light to moderate amount of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: Very enjoyable with a really nice roasty maltiness, Wild Turkey Bourbon, and earthy hoppiness with a hint of Belgian yeast - very well constructed and executed. More of a slow sipper than easy drinker, this is a very enjoyable beer. I would get this again at some point in the future.
