A- Light, very clear golden. Thick white head disappates but sticks around decently with copious lacing.
S- Smell is slightly sweet grain. Pretty decent floral notes in there too. Not as clean as most kolsches but still pleasant.
T- Again, not as clean as many in the style, but pretty tasty. Lightly sweet, with a pretty heavy floral note as well. There is a lingering bread dough character.
M- Not as carbonated as I'd like from this style. You need a mid-high level of carbonation to avoid kolsches being a bit watery. This one comes across a bit like that.
O- An interesting take on the style that for the most part provides what I'm looking for. More carbonation would put this near the top of the style for me.

On tap at the Peanut Farm.

A - Pours a light yellow with a nice thin white head. Good lacing nets left on the glass.

S - a musty wheat tone and some slight hoppiness.

T - Also a musty wheat, but more muted.

D - Very light body, low carbonation, creamy feel.

O - Very mild. Good BMC alternative.

A - Poured out a clear, golden color with a bubbly, white head of foam. It had nice retention and left some very little lace.

S - It smelled of caramel, grains and floral notes.

T - Very nice tasting kolsch. Good caramel maltiness with some spice bitterness.

M - It was crisp, sharp and very smooth. This is a light bodied brew with a snappy, dry finish.

O - This is a very nice kolsch. Tasty and very sessionable.

On tap at the new MSBC loft, their Kölsch is a clear gold with a white head leaving light lace.

Smell is sweet grains with a very nice floral, perfume note. Strange, but great.

Taste is bready, sweetish, with a weird herb/spice like bite. It thought for sure they used wild-flowers or something but apparently it's just esters. Pretty good, it works better on the nose then palate.

Mouthfeel is dry, crisp and light.

Drinkability is pretty good. The bite seemed awfully sharp at first, but I quickly adjusted. I was told it was super fresh, so I guess it was just tasting a bit green....

Midnight sun's kolsch is only available on tap. i had it at the peanut farm. It pours an ever so slightly cloudy yellow, with less carbonation than it should. The nose is very musty with some hop tones, and smooth cream tones. The first taste is creamy and leads you to beleive your in for a treat. The brew quickly becomes rather hoppy for a kolsch with borderline weak pale flavors. it goes down smooth and feels good in the mouth, and is very drinkable, but the flavors are kind of wierd. You can tell its a kolsch, but its funky.
