As an annual variant release to our Berserker Imperial Stout, this year's Berserker Valkyrie was conditioned on blueberries and vanilla beans, adding a smooth sweetness to the Berserker base you all know so well. You've been chosen, give it a good fight!

Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, molasses, cocoa, vanilla and a hint of blueberry. Flavor is dark toasted malt, molasses, bakers chocolate, vanilla and light blueberry. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A solid stout with molasses as a dominate flavor, with bitter chocolate and vanilla. The blueberry contribution is noticeable, but not dominating, as fruit additives should be. The flavor depth is a little dialed back, but plenty going on here and nice flavor. I like this better than I apparently liked the base Berserker many years ago. An uncommon California find from a brewery I kinda miss; they aren't in the Seattle market any more.
