Had on draft at the source. I enjoyed this quite a bit. There is a touch of maple sweetness but not to the point that it overwhelms the base brown ale. A nice kiss of hops with slight bitterness to balance out the biscuit/caramel flavors.

2/18/18...pours very dark brown, almost black. Ring of foam but otherwise spotty. Nutty nose, almost a hint of coffee. Rich and chocolately. Smooth slightly gritty brown. Coffee flavors. Just a hint of maple sweetness. Lightly carbonated,. Pretty good.

Poured 12 oz bottle into snifter glass. 6.9% abv. I picked a six pack up at the brewpup in Lititz, PA. Turns out they over brewed this beer and are selling the sixers for $5.
Appearance- Pours a deep brown with a red tint. Tan head that pours high but dissipates fast. Opaque.
Smell- Maple syrup is pronounced. Molasses and sweet caramel follow.
Taste- Lightly toasted, grainy malt picks up in sweetness going from caramel to a fresh hit of maple syrup. Has a smokiness as well that pairs up with the maple flavor. Hints of vanilla as well. Finishes dry and sweet with slight bitterness.
Mouthfeel- Medium in body....actually on the thinner side. Medium carbonation.
Overall- The maple flavoring of this beer is legit, unlike some other beers that bill themselves as maple. Thinner than I expected. Drinks like a 5%'er not 6.9%. Seek this one if you like maple browns!
