Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-clear ruby to dark red almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light stringy sliding lace. The aroma had some bready malt with a touch of spicy to earthy hop back up. Some caramel and toast and then roast. The flavor stays malty and bready with a nice sweetness about it. Nice blended sweet to roasty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt appropriate as projected by the brewer. Overall, pretty good doppelbock that I would have again if I could get it.
