Raconteur Rye is a pale ale which positively glows a rich amber, with spicy rye, juicy northwest hops, and a touch of wheat.

Amber pour, light head which fades quickly to just a skim coat. Malty aroma. The taste has the character of the rye, with a slight spice note. Pronounced bitterness, fades fast. A nice rye ale, but nothing head and shoulders above the crowd.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine, one finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, mild rye tartness, dry grassy hops. Flavor is pale and dry biscuit malt, rye bread, light summer herbs, finishes with pleasant grainy rye and spicy hops. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A clean, full bodied rye ale with excellent balance and fine grain mixture. The rye notes are clear, but not dominating. I really like the grassy, grainy finish. A very well done rye pale ale. A bit dark for a pale ale, but looks as nice as it tastes.
