From the brewery tap room in a snifter via a growler. This robust porter as it is
called pours a nice brownish black with a nice head of off white foam that settles
down to a thick ring, thick pooling layer, and showcases some nice sudsy lacing. Nose
of dark chocolate, moderate char, coffee notes, and subtle hop notes. Flavors lightly exceed
nose with dark chocolate and medium heavy char notes dashed in coffee and balanced with
a nice spicy hop note. Nice mouth feel; full body, medium low carbonation that is perfect for
the style, and a char/malt/hop laden finish that showcases a deft of balance making this one
rather quaffable with well hidden alcohol.
Overall a solid brew and a brewery that deserves more attention.
Cheers
