Brewed without a single smile but a trifecta of hops and fermented with our proprietary Belgian yeast strain. This beer was made with 100% no fun and is not to be enjoyed nor shared with anyone else. Be warned, this beer will make you grumpy and other side effects may include (but are not limited to): loss of patience, and the ability to laugh or smile. Please don't enjoy, Frank would be upset.

Murky orange-amber color. Poured a tall head that collapsed to larger bubbles after a minute and then to a thick skiff after three minutes. Too murky to see the carbonation level. Left a few dots of lacing.
Light barnyard scent over a Christmas pudding collection of malt, molasses, and dried fruit (pineapple, cherries, maybe plum). The scent evolved to mostly dried fruit and banana with a hint of the bready malt. Swirling the glass kicked up a strong, volatile spice that was similar to dried ground ginger but different. This spice disappeared after a few seconds leaving the original scents behind. Generally lighter smell profile than a winter warmer.
Flavors are very different from the smell. Sweet, dark fruit with a light-medium bitter from some surprising hops. Strong citrus. Some hot volatile spice similar to Sichuan pepper flower; a bit of a burn with solvent overtones. The banana shows up when it warms a bit in my mouth. The Christmas pudding malt shows up after a bit. Maybe a little butterscotch. The aftertaste is sweet and bitter, with just a bit of fruit and a hint of the malt. The fruit grows a bit stronger as the bitter and malt fade away. Quite unusual compared to other tripels I have drunk.
Light foaming; almost, but not quite, making it to a creamy feel. There is the burn, which could be the spicy phenolic, or some alcohol, or both. I don't normally notice alcohol burn until it gets well above 20% ABV, so I think it is more likely to be whatever is creating the spice. Heavy body.
I liked it, but I found it a bit odd compared to the tripels in my past. This seems three quarters of the way from a tripel to a winter warmer.
ETA: Please look at my numeric rating as based on generic taste, smell, etc. I feel like I did a poor job of rating to style.
