Iron Monk Brewing Company & Tap Room

I visited Iron Monk a few weeks back when passing through Stillwater. They’ve got a big brick and wood taproom with the brewhouse visible right in the back (always like that!). There are a few TVs and plenty of OSU decorations, as well as a whole wall of vintage beer cans! There are several big communal tables as well as smaller tables, but they also have a cozy little couch nook and board games and stuff. Very welcoming, and service up at the bar was quite friendly.

They had 20 taps available when I visited, with a blonde, a couple pales, wheat (both raspberry and un-fruited), two red/amber ales, fruited sour, 6 IPAs of various description, 4 stouts including a BBA option, a märzen, anda. dunkel lager. Overall a decent selection! The amber ale was not too bad, and while the “NEIPA” did not really fit the style, it was a tasty beer anyway. The witbier, I was less of a fan of.

 

Hands down best brewery. I’ve been to very very many and this is the only place that has a large selection, and every single beer is excellent. And this isn’t some lame trendy place overrun with sours and shitty IPA’s. They actually care about the beers, not just the dumb trends. You definitely need to try the Milk Stout, Chocolate Habanero Stout, and The Nine. The Nine is a REAL IPA, not an overhopped bitter glass of garbage. This has a real hop profile and flavor. And the Milk Stout is easily the best Milk Stout I have ever tasted.

Nice space with plenty of room at the bar and in the building. Like the beer to go options; crowler, 2 growler sizes, cans and bottles. Plenty of capacity with 40 barrel system. Nice location near th and main with a good bit of nearby parking. Free glass with flight was a nice perk.

Went to Iron Monk brewery in February and did the tour. They give you a token for a pint or a free flight there were 4 of us so we got 4 flights and tried everything they had. The selection is few being a small brewery but most were really good. The Chocolate Habanero Stout is a trip. You don't get the heat on the tongue but feel it going down. The tour was fun and informative definitely a must see for beer enthusiasts next time your in Stillwater.
