actually an italian style pils, not german as listed, we do not have a category yet for italian pils. cool four pack of pint cans here procured fresh from the brewery, a super easy drinker, and for me even more well refined and nuanced than their bohemian pils, which was also solid, but this one just screams summer and all day drinking. it has a unique little hop profile, both in terms of the varietals adding some cool and uncommon fruitiness to the beer, white grapey to me, and in terms of the hops not being all on the finish which is what i am used to in a pils type of pretty much any persuasion. the bitterness is slight but the hop character is there, really mineral forward too, not quite metallic, earthy and maybe a touch tinny, but in a good way. clean and fresh malt complexion, more bready less dusty than the german type, but without very much body at all, i like the flavor of the malt a lot. the lager yeast is delicate, lighter than it seemed in their bohemian one, and this cuts out just before being fully dry, but there beer is light and bubbly enough to still be refreshing and extremely drinkable even without immaculate dryness, i actually think the slightly extended finish is nice. this is real clean and well refined, great attention to detail and really a very good recipe overall. id like to see more of this italian style pils around the country, great style wrinkle this time of year!
