Canned 25 Sept. 7.3% on can, 5.7% according to the website. What gives?
A hazy light orange with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is intriguing. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but this is compelling, a blend of your typical fruity hops but suddenly, with a blend of spicy and phenolic yeast notes. Fruity, tropical hops with peach and passionfruit, a moderate bitterness before a spicy, almost alcoholic, juniper like heat takes over. The palate opens mildly bitter and moderately fruity, a little muddled, with a blend of peach, passionfruit, lime, mint leaves, including their grassy notes. There's a definite phenolic note on the mid palate, along with juicy, fruity, citrus notes. Fruity, spicy and sweet on the finish. Intriguing, though not necessarily fun.
