Good food, ok beer. Excellent service all around. This place is very suburban. You will find a mix of restaurant and bar here. Look for the occasional good beer, but reliable good food here.

Took my wife on a Sunday afternoon. Got there right between brunch and lunch. We got lunch. Wait staff was great. Pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable. Beer selection is unique with there different styles, for example , cherry , smoked, and others. Long story short, Ribs and wings were very good. We sat outside which I really recommend on a sunny afternoon. My wife and I will be back for seconds.

Very cool stop about 20 minutes outside of downtown, well worth the travel. Very good selection of beers, all well executed. Nothing mind blowing but all really tasty, Food and service were very good. Love the outdoor space.

Expensive looking. Not flashy necessarily. Nice state of the art everything. Clean. Very clean. Some good drinkable beers. Nothing bad per se. A really tasty one. Pretty bad service. Slow when not busy. Pretty fair beer pricings. Ran out of three menu items we wanted, which is a good sign for their quality. Wouldnt normally want to return, but know they are gooderer than that day. Plus cold drip is fire.

My wife and I had a great time at Spoonwood. What an impressive facility. Arguably the best Micro/ brewpub in town. We were impressed by how comfortable of a hang out. We tried all the beers and it feels like half the menu. The Beer is top quality. A wide range of flavors and styles. My wife is a hophead and she loved the Forever Single and Killer Diller. I was loving on the Belgian Ale, Lorna and the Doppelbock. The quality of the beer list was incredible. I rarely even attempt to taste and entire beer list but I had to give it a shot after we tasted the first four. Food was excellent. We crushed a pizza and some nachos and split lovely fish special and delicious burger called the Local. Our service a was excellent. Our server was fun and knowledgeable about the beer and food. We will be going back on Thursdays to catch their live music.

Enjoyed this place with a few friends of mine and was highly impressed. The brewery is pretty well sized, has nice decor, looks professional, clean and is in a great location. The staff are very attentive and the service is really good. This is a good model for what the modern brew pub should feel like. They have wood fired oven pizza that is very good and they have an interesting take on pizza that is very unique. They don't really have specific deals on beer as far as the flights go. They just sort of tell you that you can create your own beer flights with the sample sizes. The sample sizes are 5 o.z. small glasses which are typically 2 dollars, or sometimes 3.50 depending on what beer it is. I think that this is pretty reasonable. The larger glasses are typically $5.75, or more. I had the Icarus wit, the blackamore black ale,and the white hot rage Belgian wit. The beers were all pretty good. I especially enjoyed the Blackamore which they said was a black ale, but it tasted like a nice bitter, coffeeish sort of stout to me. You could say it is a black ale because some could argue a stout as being an ale, but when you put black before the name it makes me think of black lager, or black IPA. They also have a fenced yard that has corn hole there if you want to partake. Kind of ridiculous, but fun none the less.

Quality, quality, quality. I found this establishment well run and very professional. You want want offerings? How about twelve selections! IPA to imperial stout. From a saison to a kolsch. The food? Eclectic and VERY good.
Gourmet pizza, burgers to marrow. Yes. Bone marrow is on the menu. Osso bucco! HIGHLY recommend!

The atmosphere was pretty chill even with it being so busy
quality of beers were good that I tried.
Service was great. very busy there but she was friendly and attentive.
Selection I ranked poor. maybe 10 taps. 2 showed coming soon, 1 that showed it was available was kicked but the screen never did change to that the 2 hours we were there.
Food was great. had the burger with bacon and peppers and although it was a little undercooked it was very delicious.

Was over-crowded for about the first 3 months after opening, but better now. I really like the fact that they cycle so many different beers and styles. The food selection is always changing as well, but I find the food to be very overpriced for what you get. If you love pairings, perhaps look elsewhere and just grab a growler to go. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back.

For both food and beer the selection is small but good. Nice, clean place with a lot of room and outdoor seating. Had great service and enjoyed everything. Happy Hour prices are a big bonus

Went by this place Saturday afternoon. The decor is very cool, something like a big open garage or showroom complete with bay doors in the back that could be opened in warm weather. It was extremely crowded and there were a lot of families including younger kids. The seating was basically a race to whatever opened, no list or anything. It was chaotic but they are pretty new, so I give them a bit of a pass. I doubt they expected to be so crowded so soon.
The beer quality was above average across the board. Nothing spectacular, but notably good. The Belgians were better than I expected from a new American brewery. It normally takes a lot longer to produce good beers in the Belgian style.
The service was actually quite good despite the chaos. We got attended relatively quickly despite no one knowing when or where we sat, and our food came out very fast. The food was actually quicker than the beer; the beer wait was about 10 minutes as that was the main reason everyone was there.
The selection of beer is decent and varied. I assume more stuff will be added soon like seasonals and one-offs.
The food was outstanding. The menu is relatively small and half of it is pizzas including build your own. I had a sandwich with bacon, cheese, and mustard on it. Sounds weird, but it was absolutely amazing. They also make their own pickles which come on the side.
Definitely worth checking out. The hours are pretty good at this place so you can choose when you want to go. Best time might be early on a weekday night when no games are on. I'm guessing game nights will be busy and the weekend seems to be packed even at 2:15 in the afternoon in winter.

Go for the beer.
Walk in and there is a bar to the left, a large open area when you walk in, and perhaps 16 tables, some high tops. Very industrial looking. It was very busy when we went (8:00 on a Thursday night) and we wanted to eat. There was no hostess and no one seating tables. We just stood around awkwardly and drank a few beers, the place was definitely chaos.
The beers are solid, clean and fairly strong. The belgian style ales have an American touch. Good at hiding the alcohol. The prices were fairly high for what it is. The food menu is abbreviated and the kitchen closes at 9 pm. Looks like one of those flatbread pizza places not a whole lot of choices really and nothing looked all that great. By the time we found a spot to sit it was too late to eat, which was fine because the menu was pretty lame by the looks of it and the food being served.
Go there for the beer, but don't expect too much from it or especially the "restaurant". If you go in with low expectations you may like it more, my friend and I left disappointed in the "restaurant" but the beer was not bad at all.

Very southern tier-esque. Good to have a quality brewery in the south hills of pittsburgh. The IPA is good and the different Belgian-style beers are good. As this place grows, it's very possible that I rate their beer higher than 4.

The decor is very much industrial chic combined with modern minimalism. Lots of windows letting light in and the brewing equipment is in plain view behind the bar. The variety of beers was decent when I visited, but nothing crazy. Three Belgian ales available though. I believe this will be a consistent standard on availability. There were also several that were listed on the television menu behind the bar that were not "lit up" as the others were; I figured out these are what is coming soon. Food was pretty good, I felt. Well above average.
Service. After three visits, I think I am now qualified to comment. Not very good. On my last visit, it basically killed my Spoonwood experience and sealed the deal that I will not be able to return.
