The description says tart and that's right. That's about all I get. I don't get much funk from this thin, one-dimensional beer and no herbal element at all. I was hoping for that herbal element, given the gin-barrel aging. I love gin and I have had a couple great beers aged in gin barrels with nice juniper, herbal qualities. This doesn't have it. It's just a thin, tart sour in taste. Hazy gold, minimal white ring. I'll note that I don't like simple sour beers - a little sour is great as an element in a more complex beer, but I don't like anything that's just sour, so that will inform my opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that it is one-dimensional and has no real funky or herbal notes.
