This is a decent sour/wild ale, neatly named for the wood-burning stove store next door. It is lightly hazy straw gold with a thin white head, looking largely like a lot of the Shady Oak beers it seems. It mostly has tart sourness with vague hop elements. It has exceedingly light funkiness - not nearly enough in my book. When I have a beer described as "funky" and "brett conditioned' as this is, I hope for something with true funky "barnyard" character, earthy and yeasty notes and complexity. I think if beers like Russian River Temptation or Gueuze Girardin. This is pretty good, somewhat enjoyable enough for one small glass, a bit quenching in a way, but tedious after a small glass. It's fairly thin of character and feel, and rather one dimensional. Wild ales or lambic types are hardly my favourite but I want them to have lots of character.
