Look: Mahogany on the pour, which initiates an awesome-looking beige head that puffs up and holds, slowly puckering away and revealing great lacing left behind
Aroma: Freshly baked brown bread, raisins, toffee, toasted crust, a little dough, caramel, light earthy notes, dried figs, and prunes
Taste: Opens up with a nice, but not overpowering hit of dried dark fruit that lingers just long enough for the usual cast of characters to make their presence known before being joined by a full-on bread assault. Warmed and freshly baked brown bread, crust, and dough all present, plus plenty of toffee and caramel that weave in and out throughout before closing with light earthy hops and more dried dark fruit
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and smooth and soft on the finish with no detectable alcohol
Overall: This is a delicious beer. I love what these folks do and rarely have the chance to try this gem so it was an easy buy when I saw it was packaged and in 6-packs no less! A tasty and well-made Doppelbock with a lot of depth and way too drinkable at 8%. This will not be my last sixer of this and highly recommended as well

500 ml bottle purchased from Roth's Fresh Market in West Salem OR.
$5.99
It is not often you see a US dopplebock anymore so had to go for it!
Pours a dark amber/chestnut coloured body with a small frothy/bubbly tan head.
Aroma is pretty subdued but its mainly brown toasted bread and hazelnuts.
Taste is of nuts, raw brown sugar and toast. Pretty simple stuff , but no alcohol present. Gets a wee bit of hops right at the end.
Mouth feel was OK..its medium but could do with more carbonation to keep it interesting.
Overall an OK beer for the weather but not a great doppelbock.
