Look: Nearly clear and red in color with a silky-looking khaki head that builds up and eventually settles to a lid, leaving lacing clung to the glass
Aroma: Ruby-red grapefruit, lemons, orange, lightly toasted bread, caramel malt, and light wafts of fruity dank
Taste: Starts out with strong citrus fruit flesh and rind that encompasses everything I got in the nose, but much more pronounced. Layers of freshly baked bread, caramel, and dank come on in the middle before citrus regains momentum for the close, along with a bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and felt dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I love hoppy reds and Deluxe’s beer game in general so was pumped to see this again packaged after a few years hiatus and it’s still tasty. Strata hops put their stamp on a nice red ale base with citrus-heavy flavors/aromas and drinks way too easy for 7%
