A: opaque; cola brown with mahogany highlights at the edges; 1 finger finely pored tan head that receded to a wispy cap; nice thick rings of lace;
S: roasted grain and milk chocolate;
T: roasted grain from start to finish; a little sweeter than many American brown ales; a little black coffee bitterness in the aftertaste;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: flavor was one note and a little sweet;

Sampling a cold growler poured into a snifter. The beer pours a rich cola brown color with a densely packed creamy beige head of 2.5 cm that fades to a thick edge layer and leaves some very tight lattice that recedes down the glass after each sip.
The aroma is some light roasted malt and a bit of chocolate and maybe a bit of nutty shell notes mixed in.
First sip reveals an average body with tingly carbonation and a soft texture as the beer slides across my palate.
Flavor is similar to the nose with a bit of sweet chocolate and then roasted malt. Neither of these flavors are robust but they are appropriate for the style and the easy drinking quality is also well received by this reviewer. This is a well made brown ale with no flaws that I can find in a style that is easy to cause problems. Hoping to get some more beers from these guys as they are the new kids on the block and seem to know what they are doing!
