Lasting beige head which leaves several streaks and spots on the glass. The liquid is darker brown where light only passes along the edge.
There's an ashen smell most likely coming from the Chipotle peppers. It doesn't smell spicy but rather very dry. No chocolate.
Neutral deeply roasted malt flavor start. The body leans thin with an elevated carbonation level. The finish draws forward the spices which is more dry than hot. Very short aftertaste. No notable chocolate despite the inclusion of Cacao nibs.
