Poured from 330mL can into my Belvárosi sörfesztivál tulip. Best by 11/15/24. The ingredients list says water, barley malt, hops, and yeast, so presumably the gluten is removed after-the-fact.
Appearance: pale golden hue with a moderate haze and a thick cap of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: kind of a flat, grainy aroma that I associate with GF beers; although this is made with barley so it’s not like it’s millet or sorghum or something. Hops are citrusy and perhaps a little juicy. It’s not too bad for a GF beer.
Taste: the malt here is super light, almost like a session IPA. The hops are citrusy and a bit piney, and almost just a bit too sharp. It could be better balanced, but again, for a GF beer it’s not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: drinkability on this is impacted a little bit for the worse for me, because the more I drink, the more those unbalanced almost-sharp hops kinda build on my palate. So, this might work for someone, but if you’re not looking for GF you can probably give this beer a pass.
