The beer here was completely tasteless and washed out. Tried several beers and settled on the saison. They offered fresh made pizzas but after the beer was so boring here was no way we were trying pizza. Place was clean and looked like a cool hang out.

I've been in two or three times and the place always seems slow to moderately busy. I've never had to yell to talk to the person next to me. The beers from their brewery are alright. At opening they had a lot of guest beers on tap, they've shifted to mostly their own. The brewer must love trying new things, always some new idea on tap when I go in. Service has always been prompt and attentive.

On a Saturday night out with a few friends we stopped into D14, which is conveniently located in my neighborhood. Upon entering, the monotone color scheme of "Brown!" screems out with no relief except a slightly purple ceiling that strangely has a brown tint under the lights. The bar, the floor, the tables, the chairs - all brown.. normally I don't give a shit what color a place is but it was a bit obnoxious.
Color aside, the place was about half full at 10PM and finding a spot at the bar was no problem. With 12 beers available from a pale ale to a triple IPA there i took a minute to peruse the menu with more descriptions of the beers. Once I saw something that caught my eye the bartender quickly grabbed a goblet of Saison - Dark brown color with a mild phenolic spicey yeast and chocolate and bread notes - definitely not your typical saison. The next and last beer of the night was the triple IPA (captain trips) - mild hop aroma with big alcohol warmth and maltiness with moderate grapefruit hoppiness.
Of the two beers I tried that night the common element I observed was they didn't seem to be fully attenuated. The beers them self have potential and I'll be curious to see how things progress with D14 as they are such a new spot, but right now they beers I've tried were mediocre at best.

Cool new place in Bay View.
The bar and all the seating were made by the head brewer, which is pretty cool. Not a ton of seating, but comfortable at 6:00 on a Saturday night.
Wide variety of beer options, most of which were pretty solid.
Food is limited to brats and pizza, neither of which I opted to try.
Overall, definitely a place that I would head to regularly if it were in my neighborhood.
