Poured stout black with a 1 cm light brown head that left sparse lacing. Considering the ABV, any lacing is fairly impressive.
The taste is a tiny bit sweeter than I expected from a whiskey barrel aged stout, but as they don't specify which whiskey I can't knock them for what I expected. Think bourbon barrel aged stout with considerably less sweetness and an edge that *might* be rye, but I can't tell. Regardless, it was very much a barrel aged stout and is very enjoyable.
The feel is nicely viscous; certainly not chewy, just enough body to encourage sipping. And this is definitely one you want to sip.
OA, Not what I expected, but very much enjoyed.
